The New Balance 991v2 Looks A Season Ahead In “Catawba Grape”

The New Balance 991v2 has been on an absolute heater since debuting in late 2023, and the Made In UK silo isn’t changing course any time soon. Summer-worthy “Grape Sorbet” and “Brandied Apricot” colorways are next up on our Sneaker Release Dates calendar, followed by a handful of darker looks set to hit newbalance.com once we approach the cooler months. This “Catawba Grape” colorway is one to look out for, shown here via official retailer images.

We’ve seen New Balance experiment with nubuck and hairy suede on the 991v2 throughout its time on shelves, but these stick to the model’s “normal” with smooth premium suede, leather underlays, and a mesh base. The titular hue floods essentially the entire upper, with reflective pops of grey landing on the backtab and “N” logos. The back half of the midsole takes on a cream color, and while hardly a focal point, blue accents on the shoe’s ABZORB SBS cushioning add some welcome intrigue.

The New Balance 991v2 “Catawba Grape” is already available at Level Shoes and is expected to hit the New Balance site during the Fall/Winter 2025 window. See official retailer images below if these might make your wish list.

Sticking with the Boston sneaker giant, the New Balance 204L continues to surface in new colorways.
