The Cheetah Print adidas Continue On The Adizero Adios OG

adidas is milking animal prints for all they’re worth. Following successful animalistic takes on cuts like the Samba and SL-72, the resurgent Adizero Adios OG is the next silo to get overhauled with the fan-favorite texture.

The Adizero Adios is now being positioned for lifestyle wear – which is whole-heartedly supported by this feline texture swap – but it was just 17 years ago that it was regarded as one of the market’s best marathon runners. Ethiopian long-distance star Haile Gebrselassie brought a prototype version to the 2008 Berlin Marathon, breaking the world record by 29 seconds with a 2.03.59 finishing time. This is the sneaker that helped pave the way for the Adizero Adios line as we know it today, with modern silos like the Adios Pro 4 standing tall as go-tos for Strava regulars.

Here we have a full-on re-imagination of the Adizero Adios OG featuring two different animal textures. Gone is the model’s traditional mesh upper, replaced by cheetah print over the base and cow print on the tongue, heel, and toe overlay. The stripes, lining, and midsole all appear in black, while green laces build on the shoe’s eccentric appeal. This is the lone animal-textured Adizero Adios OG uncovered thus far, but it’s likely adidas has at least one more style up their sleeve.

The adidas Adizero Adios OG “Animal Pack” is expected to release August 15th overseas, meaning a larger adidas.com drop should occur thereafter. See official images below if these speak to your taste.
