Though it’s been a quiet year for the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, a quality-over-quantity approach has allowed each passing 2025 colorway to be all the more impactful. It’s hard to make a stronger first impression than the Air Jordan 1 “Self-Expression,” now stepping into the foreground with the complete official images treatment.
As these shots show, the starting point for the Air Jordan 1 “Self-Expression” is in very familiar territory, pairing a black upper with a slightly tinted white midsole underneath, almost echoing the “Cyber Monday” of old. It’s after continued wear where the expressive title begins to take hold, as any scuffs or scrapes on the individual leather panels begins to reveal a kaleidoscopic multi-color arrangement concealed inside.
Amid a bounty of shades, some earlier in-hand footage tipped off what to expect in which section: blue dominates the Swoosh and Wings panes, orange brackets the eye-stays, and the toe delivers familiar Chicago-style red. Reportedly, if you manage to work your way through those vibrant panels, a third and final layout awaits, shifting all the way back to all-white. While SB fans are no doubt well-accustomed to this sort of wear-away hardware, it’s notable been absent from the Air Jordan 1 for some time, this continuing a heritage started with the “Lance Mountain” in 2014.
