Nike Speaks In Morse Code On The Cortez

The sneaker is compelling enough as is, dressed in “Parachute Beige” nubuck along with a removable tongue flap for some added soccer shoe flair. The real highlight lives on the insoles and lateral side of the heel, both reading “NIKE” in morse code.

For what it’s worth, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Nike use morse code. In the early 2000s, the Beaverton brand released an “Urban Series” of footwear and apparel featuring the communication, including some pieces with translation guides. Just as it was back then, the underlying concept behind this Nike Cortez is fairly ambiguous.
