Nike’s full embrace of the mega-thick midsole trend isn’t more evident than the upcoming Nike Vomero Premium running shoe. Boasting a 55m midsole height at the heel, these beefy bottoms have given the Swoosh even more space to go ham with their performance innovations.
It starts with ZoomX foam, a material that is now the standard across the brand’s most important innovations. It’s not limited to just running either; you’ll see the next-level foam material in basketball models like the Air Jordan 40 and Nike Ja 3 as well.
Embedded inside that mattress-like bedding are two Air Zoom pods. Unlike the Pegasus Premium, which goes for the eye-catching full-length set-up, the Vomero Premium opts for two independent pods at the forefoot and heel, strategically placed to allow the bag to expand and contract when compressed. You can see those Zoom bags peek out the midsole, so the visual charm is there.
The upper design features an Engineered Mesh build with a standard placement and dimesnion of the Swoosh logo. You won’t see the oversized logos as you see in the AlphaFly family, nor will you see a smaller logo as seen in the Vomero Plus. Nike Running has seemingly ditched the mini-Swoosh that was common in the Invincible line. The spirit of the Air More Uptempo basketball shoe is the most unexpectedly charming detail of the shoe as the enlarged AIR text is laid above the upper.
